  1. Been a while since my last update...

    Hello everyone! I have some updates for my Elos and Mr.Aqua, sans pictures unfortunately.

    Elos -
    • Monti caps were devoured by Nudibranchs (didnt realize they were so small !).
    • Alk related crash wiped out the Acros (switching salt mixes I presume)
    • Added sand! Tank seems more stable since adding it.
    • In the process of catching the Chromies, one down two to go.
    • Added a Blue Spot Jawfish - 2 months and going strong.
    • Lowered temp to 77*F, cooling fans kick on at 77.5*F.

  2. So much can change in a month!

    I haven't posted in a month, but we've seen a lot of changes here with Bright Reef. Here's the highlights...
    1. In preparation to move the small reef into the larger tank, we matched water conditions as closely as possible, then basically did a water change in increments over the course of a day. We removed water from the 20 gallon tank, and replaced it with water from the 125, then replenished the 125 with fresh seawater. The water from the 20 gallon went back into the 125 too, as we had ...

  3. Our latest reef

    Hello not really sure if i have this in the right category.Just joined the forum and thought i should tell you a little bit of my history.I have been battling the reefing bug for 25 years now and in the last year have gotten my fiance hooked "another victim".Last year i got Joyce started with a 14 gallon cube with a DSB and 25 lbs of live rock and a couple of softie corals.Well within 4 months that turned into 29 gallon reef ready with a DSB another fish or two and a few more guys added ...

  4. By request: the yellow sponge

    I had someone ask me recently what the yellow stuff was on my liverock, so I got a good macro shot of this pretty hithchiker sponge. It can get out of hand with some corals, but I like looking at it.
