  2. Return pumps in sump or external? Best practice?

    Hello everyone,

I am planning a 120 gal FOWLR tank and am trying to establish about a 10x (1200gph) turnover through the sump back to the tank.

The question I have is are most reef addicts drilling their sump to attach a single external return pump (with an exact extra pump on hand in case of failure)? ... or inserting two smaller return pumps in the sump so in case one burns out the other will function until the problem is discovered (this was recommended by my ...

  3. 10 days shy of 5 years, I have to announce a retirement...

My return pump has chugged along for 1,815 days in a row, running 23.5 hours a day. Every night for about 30 minutes, the return pump is turned off while I feed the tank, then restarted once they've had their feasting period.

  5. Tang food and ich!

Ok, my new powder blue tang has ich. On Melev's reef it says some people call these fish "ich Magnets" GREAT! Anyway, he or she is my new baby and I want to do what I have to do in order to give it a great home.

What type ich med to give him? And, what food, they like (per Melev's Reef) dry seaweed and Nori?

My sis is going to bring me to the LFS in a bit so all fast replies would be nice.

    Thanks in advance,

    HAT
