Some questions from when the site was down....

Rate this Entry
So while the site was down for maintenance I received my new Warner Marine ecoBAK pellets and some Brightwell MB7,

I dosed the MB7 at the "new tank/high nutrient level" dose for about a week, then I added 250ml of biopellets to my system, my GFO was taken offline when the pellets were added. For reference, my tank is approximately 3.5 months old and is a 55g with a 10g sump and 70lbs of live rock. My skimmer is the 2010 Reef Octopus NWB-150, rated for 150g. The current bioload is:

2 small (1") maroon clowns
1 small (4") foxface
1 large (3") firefish
1 large (12" across) brittle star
15 assorted hermits mostly blue legs
6 astrea snails

My question is, is my tank too young for the biopellets? Did I make a very bad mistake by adding them this early? How should I continue dosing the MB7 after my 2 weeks of "starting dose" are over?

Thanks,

Max

The system will only use what it can use, If you have nitrates and phosphates then you will use the pellets and if you don't then they will just tumble.
