Get my ammonia down to zero. Finally.

So the 75 is making progress.

Here are the details.
Amonia. 2.4 eek.
Salinity 1.028 ugh
Ph. 8.3 haven't had a chance to clock the swing. That will happen tom I'll be home all day.
Calcium. 480
Nitrite. .01
Phosphates. .25
Iron. .01

I dosed a double dose of ammonia down. After 3 days of single dozing. I'm using sachem prime water conditioner. It continues to drop slowly. I'm gonna do a water change tom. Only thing is my return keeps spitting bubbles into my tank when the water level drops. I've never had a system with a sump so it kinda stresses me out. Is that normal?

Other than that my skimmer is doing ok as far as I can tell. I'm gonna take some pics tom. The vortec is awesome I have crazy flow. I'm upgrading to an evolution led setup prob next week and scrapping the halides to cut back on the electric bill. Anyone have experience with that u nit? I'm anxious to get my coral in this tank and its mostly spas so I'm a bit leery about making the switch.

    Ammonia will drop on its own, the tank is cycling for some reason. Not good with livestock in there as it burns fish gills and I'm sure inverts don't like it much either. Ammonia and nitrite are toxic. Using Prime or Ammonia Down will help somewhat, but it can give you false test kit readings. Why is the tank cycling? What have you done recently?

    How big is the tank? How big are the water changes?

    The sump is spitting up bubbles because of evaporation. Your system needs to be topped off regularly. You can keep it simple or make it complex - that's up to you. If the return section of your sump is tiny, evaporation is quick as that zone drops fast. I had a sump like that before, and had to top off every 12 hours every single day. It was very annoying.
