OK so i havent posted in ages about my upgrade for a # of reasons, busy, tired, and doubts about going foward after my 2 tanks crashed a few months back, all my fish lived thousands of dollars of corals died that really really put a damper on the upgrade and i just let the 265 sit in place for a while, i finished the drains from the tank to the basement into the 150 gallon rubbermaid into 2 JBJ filter socks. The return is 1 REEFLO GOLD HAMMERHEAD pumping up and into 2 1.5" NEW SEA SWIRLS located on the sidewalls. I put 240lbs of CARIBSEA live sand, and transferred all my rock from the 2 old tanks to the 265, i made 3 separate islands and it looks great, IMO. Its been cycling for 2 weeks and the water is super clear, i think it will cycle fast because of the live rock and sand. The hermits that i didnt notice were on some of the rock when i transferred them are still alive so thats a good sign i guess. I ordered 3 400W REEFBRITE MH/LED HYBRID PENDANTS, 3 400W REEFBRITE DIGITAL BALLASTS, 3 REEFBRITE HANGING KITS from one of my LFS OCEAN GALLERYII and will be picking them up and installing them this week. I plan on adding some ECOTECH MP60's with the battery back up spaced out on the back glass but im going to have to save up for them lol. Can't wait to put most of my fish from both tanks in the 265 my tangs will love it im sure. There are a few fish that i do not want to transfer and will sell/trade off. I also have a nice blue carpet anemone that im not sure if i should add or not, since some fish are not smart enough to stay clear of it, like my hawk fish and yes my black tang, yes my blue carpet took away my black tang and I need therapy just thinking about it lol.
