New Frags over the past month

Rate this Entry
The past month has been a very busy in terms of getting new frags! Between trades, ebay, the C-SEA frag-a-thon and the LEAR swap in Cleveland,OH I have a whole bunch of new goodies. I tried to remember the names of the coral and who I acquired them from as best a possible. A few corals I have had a bit longer but they are amongst my favorites so I took a few new pictures of them.

Orange Bam Bam Zoanthids from hobbyist DonDon1

Blue Zoanthids from hobbyist rosebud161616

Sun Spot Zoanthids from Tidal Gardens, the contrast of the bright center compared to the rest of the zoanthid is amazing. One of my very favorites!

Keds Reds Zoanthids from hobbyist DonDon1

Peach Blossoms from Jason Fox at the LEAR Swap

Scarlet and Grey Favites from Tidal Gardens (I think he named them this because he knew I would buy them being the Ohio State grad that I am , regardless of the name I still very much like them.

The reason I have no sps polyp extension, the orange spotted file fish. For me the fish is worth the trade off of no polyp extension, but I can understand why others would not be so keen on the idea.

An unknown frag that continues to grow well for me. Very bright green polyps! From the Salty Critter

Left center is a Boston Bean Digi from Jason Fox at the LEAR swap
Right center is a Tyree Ultimate Stag from Jason Fox at the LEAR swap
Top Right is a Blue Tort from hobbyist Mike660r

Back left is a Blue Tort from hobbyist Mike660r
Back Mid is a Tyree Ultimate Stag from Jason Fox at the LEAR swap
Back right is a Teal Acro from Tidal Gardens
Front mid is a Boston Bean Digi from Jason Fox at the LEAR swap
Front right is the smallest birdsnest frag ever, from me

Front orange and green leptastrea from Tidal Gardens
Back “LEAR” chalice from hobbyist kreeger1

Front orange and green leptastrea from Tidal Gardens
Back-left “LEAR” chalice from hobbyist kreeger1
Back-right cosmic chalice from Tidal Gardens

Violet Orange Monti from Jason Fox at the LEAR Swap (not my frag)

Jack-O-Lantern Leptoseris from Jason Fox at the LEAR Swap

Cornbread Bling Bling Cyphastrea from Jason Fox at the LEAR swap

You have some very nice pieces of coral in your collection. Keep up with your husbandry and it'll look great in no time. You're definitely filling up any empty space you might have had.

Hey who was to the left of jason fox at the event??? if you were facing jasons table. was it tidal gardens?

A Reef Creation was to the left of Jason's Table. Tidal Gardens was actually on the other side of that room more or less directly across from Jason.

ok thanks! i got a palmers blue milli at least 5 inches for 50 bucks! its awesome! Ill post picks when I actually have a camera that can take pics under my LED's its so annoying

Use a flashlight on the coral in question, or use your flash. It should help cancel out some of the blue. Or turn off the blues and give us a white light picture.

Unfortunately all my lights are leds so my camera on my phone can't pick up the corals under white or blue so I'm sol until I can borrow a good camera :/

However the flashlight idea might work however I'm not sure cuz my phone sucks!

It's likely because the pictures are over exposed. Try sunglasses.... no seriously! :-)

Sunglasses over the camera lens? Never thought of that. Blake if you try that, please have someone else take a picture of you taking a picture with sunglasses on your camera!
