Pico (De Gallo) 5g AquaTop Zen - Getting Back into Reefing

Rate this Entry
It's been about 2 years since my last reefing experience.

I have decided to get back into things with a tiny little guy!

Picked it up on 11/13/13.

My goal is to get a nice Zoa/Ricordia garden going on. Possibly might get a Goby/Pistol shrimp combo going on as well.

This setup doesn't have a skimmer, it is just a little internal pump moving things through some biomedia and ceramic cylinders. I replaced both of those with some GFO and Carbon. There are three little boxes in the filter pillar. I removed one of them completly and placed the GFO and Carbon inside of filter bags then placed them into the filter boxes.

Here is the back:

The Filter box:

I am added a powerhead, pushing 256gph - AquaTop.

Bought just over 5 lbs of manmade LR that was aged in the ocean (the LFS said it was cured, that's really all I cared about).

Added about 6-7 lbs of sand as well. (I might add more?)
