Springtime in the south

Rate this Entry
Well the forecast has 30 degree temp swings on offer this week so it must be springtime.
For me this has been very educational with regards to my tank.
I have no chiller,Im not planning one either.I intend to just keep the house at a nice 70F at all times and run the 3 fans I have (2 in the canopy one blowing over the sump).
Temps here in summer are above 90 for months so we shall see if Ive planned well enough.

That's pretty much what I've done for years with my 29g and 55g. I never used a chiller for those tanks. Of course, in the summer it's expensive to keep the house at 70F, so I'd keep it around 75-76F during the worst of it. If you can raise up your canopy a bit to allow heat to escape, that's an additional method that helps.
