My Introduction to Reef Addicts...

Hello and thanks for letting me be a part of your addiction, all of us junkies in one place. Scary stuff. I hope to learn and share what we have learned in our experiences in reef keeping. I look forward to seeing the handy work you guys do with DIY projects and other projects from so many bright minded addicts and maybe a few not so bright ones as well. I assume we are all here to learn and share in reef keeping ideas and maybe a few suggestions on where to get the good deals on supplies.
Just wanted to introduce myself. I haven't filled out my profile completely, but I will soon. My experiences in reef systems is about 30 years of saltwater fish keeping, but he last 20 have been keeping reef systems, learned alot over the years and I still am learning. Currently I have downsized my hobby to 2 small systems. a 14 biocube, and a 54 thats just now being set up. I like the thrill of setting them up and the challanges it brings. My next plan is a 120 sps, lps system that I hope to have up and running by this summer.
Diving here in North Fl, we manage to collect some really cool things for reef tanks. Some of it legal .

    Welcome to the site, GD.

Since you are in Florida, you should definitely make plans now to attend MACNA in Orlando, FL this September. It's a three day event with over 1000 hobbyists, over 21 speakers, and over 100 vendors. Missing it would be a mistake - I go every year no matter where it is.

30 years in saltwater - that's impressive. So what is your favorite thing to bring back from those dive trips? Got any pictures of these acquisitions?

I had alot of Florida rock collected from a friends personal drop site near Largo Fl. The few times I have tried to plant rock here I never found it, it was either taken or strong currents from one of the close by hurricanes messed me up. The live rock up here in Noth Fl. is good, just got to watch out for those fireworms, and mantis shrimp, they get huge!!
I will work on getting my pics of a few things, I am not a good photographer. Looking back, I wish I did take more pics. Apparently I need to load pics to Photo bucket or something like that. I will do that later after work.
Meleev, I do plan on going to MACNA, Sept. 5th I think. Ill be there. Its only 2 hrs from home.
