  1. Mom, I found a stray and brought it home!

So I went today for a nice walk down to the reef to get some snails and a few shells with my 4 and 5 year olds. I was more going out there because the kids were driving me batty inside the house and they love going for a walk down onto the reef at low tide and checking out all the crabs and the fish fry that are in the small tidal pools. I normally take a bucket along to collect some snails to add to my cleanup crew that normally go and either crawl out of my tank or they just seem to disappear. ...

  2. I am about to Murder a fish...

Over the last few days I have slowly noticed the decline on some of my SPS and my clams staying mostly withdrawn. I Could not figure out what was going on and it was starting to stress me out a bit. I was worried that something had drastically changed in all my parameters just to go and test and everything was in order. Well this morning I woke up and the first thing I do is go straight to the tank to see how everyone is doing and to do a headcount. As I am watching the tank, I noticed my Saddle ...
  3. My Tank is now one month old

So here I am a month after I started and I am doing good. It started off kind of rough with the loss of a Elbi Angel as well as the mysterious disappearance of a Kohl Tang and a damaged swim bladder on a Fairy wrasse. I honestly think it was the collection method of who ever caught these guys as I got them from the same store at roughly the same time. During that time frame all of my parameters were dead on with nothing that stood out as beeing way off kilter. Right now I have 11 fish and all are ...
  4. Diving in Okinawa

Well I figured I would at least show everyone where I go to get all of my corals and inhabitants of my tank. The diving here is just amazing and some of the best in the world. Not too many people know about it but we who have had the pleasure of being stationed here get to enjoy this type of diving year round. I hope you all enjoy.

  5. Straight from the Ocean to my 157L (41.475 Gallons) Tank. Only 2 weeks old!

I guess I will finally make my first post here on Reef Addicts as I have been lurking around for a week or so. I am currently living in Okinawa Japan where we have some of the best diving in the world with all the prized fish and corals. After diving for the last 2 years here, I finally decided to get back into reefing after a 3 year hiatus. While I was in California I had a 125 gallon reef and a 60 gallon reef. I never could get up the nerve ...
