  1. Midnight's 300g Build Some Parts and Stand draft

    Last Thursday we closed on the new house in Charlotte. The family and I went to the mountains of NC for the weekend and I snuck down to the Atlanta Reef Club for their frag swap and presentations. The swap was great, lots of fraggers and some vendors with their products up on display. Not only were they there to help explain their products but many of them contributed to the raffle.   2. macro algae display

    i have a 24x24x18"h system with a 20g sump that i want to change. i want to create a macro algae display. this is a learning curve for me so anyone have suggestions for starting-up?

  3. Midnight's 300g Build

    I was in the new house last night doing some measuring and snapped a few pictures to show you guys where the tank is going.
    The location of the new tank. Sorry for the grainy picture, it was semi dark in there and I didn't turn on flash.



    We don't officially close on the how until Thursday so I can not start demolition until after that.

  4. Transportaion engineers and plumbing...oh my - AKA plumbing part II

    Well, I planned my work and worked my plan...until my brain got in the way, then I revised my plan and made things way more complicated.
    Anyway, the plumbing is done...mostly.

    How we got there:

    Time to plumb a pump.

    I started with a 3/4" to 1 1/2" adaptor threaded to a 1 1/2" union. I screwed these 2 fittings together prior to putting them on the pump to avoid cracking the pump housing.

  5. Equipment list for 300g Build

    This entry will discuss equipment that I pan on using for my 300g build.

    Automation will be handled by the APEX controller that I already have. I will be adding an EB8 and possibly a 2nd ph probe to handle the Calc reactor.
