Discuss electrical solutions
The tank will hopefully arrive next week. This week its snowed every day all day, and its making getting around the city trecharous. Sadly its not always the weather conditions that make travel so difficult. I sit on the 25th floor and right now its white out conditions; I can't see the building next to us, or any across the streets. Because I like driving around guzzling "cheap" gas in my trunk, I drove to the hardware store yesterday and picked up plywood for the tank ...
I ordered a Majano Zapper from PaulB last week. This is a device that was cleaned up from the version I posted about last January / February when a buddy of mine let me watch his DIY handiwork in Seattle take out some pest anemones. PaulB decided he could make a better mousetrap and fabricated something I was willing to hold -- after all, it is an electrical device we submerge in our saltwater system! Before you ask, I don't know if he's going to make any more of these at the moment ...
I have noticed that there are not many places where you can find information on DIY LED's for beginners, and I haven't seen any blogs on Reef Addicts yet, so I thought I'd post my experience. I am not an expert by any means, I am just a beginner myself. This blog will only include what I have learned from others and what I've learned from my own mistakes. If there is any information that is incorrect or not complete please comment and add it to this info. Parts List with Prices: ...
I thought I would share these tips, some of you may have seen these before. A friend of mine emailed them to me a couple days ago. He said they were emailed to him from one of his friends that claimed to have copied them from a forum post from another website. I don't know who the original author is: Lord knows I don't have time to sit and copy all this stuff. I can't post them all at once, max characters per post is 10,000 so I'll have to break this up... (this is going to be a pain) ...

I was simply wondering if anyone has built their own LED lighting system. I read two articles online about it and I totally want to try it. I have a 55 gallon tank, it's a fish only system for now because I haven't gotten up to the high end lighting that is required for a reef tank. Just wondering if anyone has tried this fairly new technology out yet. Here are some plans that I found: http://ledsupply.com/docs/reef-tank_...structions.pdf http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...0#post14502630
