Last night I adopted a cucumber from someone who was going bare bottom and had a beautiful collection of fish that he no longer wanted to be at risk of a cuke nuke. I am completely aware of the potential of the cucumber going atomic on my tank. I do not have much in my tank in terms of fish and coral and I am keeping a very close eye on the critter. I know everybody here preaches dumps and wet dry filters, but I just got a Fluval FX5 canister filter rated for400 gallons, 950 gph. I'm putting it on my 40 breeder with 2 remora skimmers. Anybody with advice on what media I should use would be helpful. Thanks
Hey all quick question. I am prepping my mixing station (very similar to what Drimo did) and although it is not stained I can still smell the soft drink syrup that was first in the barrel. Does this mean it still has the potential of releasing baddies into my reef tank? PS i have already rinsed it a few times and also used some vinegar. I plan on getting a big jug of vinegar and rinsing it a few more times also. Thanks all
Well it seems my Chromis have decided to start spawning. I shot some video but its not the best. Pretty cool though, I now have a mated pair of clowns and chromis. Any ideas how often this will happen? Sorry the videos aren't the best but I'm sure I'll get another chance.
I used to drop in to ReefHotSpot a few miles from LAX to pickup a coral or two. Noticed their website said, under construction. Well, I took a drive and found that "under construction" meant LITERALLY .... Empty warehouse all tanks gone, building for rent. Spoke to a guy inside and he said his buddy bought the biz.
