  2. Marineland Reef LED lighting???

    Does any one have these and are they any good for Fish AND Corals. I know in asking "corals" that there are soft and hard corals, as a newbie, I havent figured out whats what in that category...If the marineland Reef Lighting will work on 1 type, I'd be pretty set with that option...

    Does anyones LFS use these in a DT in the store???

    Opinions? Thoughts???

  3. Rockscaping and saltwater at last!

    With everything done, it was time to move the bonded rock into the display. I had a sinking feeling it wouldn't hold together, but wanted to will it with Jedi Might to stay strong. Using a large piece of 3/8" thick scrap acrylic, we hoped we could slide parts of the structure onto it and lift this into the tank. Unfortunately, the concrete material didn't hold strong, and as you might imagine at 2 a.m. the expletives were flying. All that hard work on Ryan's part was being undone, mostly because ...

  4. Aquascaping and Sumpology

    With all the plumbing completed on Friday night, Wes and Ryan both offered to come over Saturday evening to help with the rockwork. I've had the majority of the live rock (LR) in a barrel for the past six months, tied into the livestock system via a feed from the manifold. Some yellow sponge has been growing nicely over that time.



    When it comes to LR, I prefer to never expose it to air more than a few minutes. ...

  5. Refugium critter effect on display tank?

    Those with experience having in-line refugium, please offer your thoughts. I have a refugium with miracle mud base plus few inches sand bed on top of that. Been running for three years. Content mainly consists of cheato macro algae,small pods, and quite a few of bristle worms... I've seen a you tube video of a cleanup crew farmer saying, small bristle worms of the kind in my refugium are good, just not a certain large type worm (forgot the name, 8+ inches long ... That's great.
