  1. How I spent my birthday or Day 6 of the build...

    Day 6 of work or What a way to spend your birthday.

    Well I fell into some money so I now have enough to finish this project 100%.

    Well we started by doing the electrical, 20 outlets in all. I wanted to make sure I had enough....




    Then it was on to insulation, and I did put 6 mil plastic on as well just no picture of the plastic.

  2. It has began!

    Well it has begun again.

    The reef bug hit, and were pretty much settled in from the move so I decided it was time to set up a new reef.

    It is just cycling now, so I got some time to work out some more detail on the livestock. I started with a base of a few critters I wanted to keep, and am going from there. It's amazing just how long fine sand particles will stay suspended in the water. I put the sand in close toa week ago and it is still there. I ran the AC70 ...

  3. Moving the new 245 G with 2 people

    On Saturday (8/14/2010), I purchased a new 245 G (72Lx30Wx36T). The only problem is that I only had my cousin to help move the tank once I got it home. Here is how we managed to do it.

    1) First we removed the tank from my van onto a wagon that had inflatable wheels. (Notice we used the suction cups, they were a life saver)



    2) Next we nailed 2x8s to the stairs to slide the tank down ...

    Yellow fish, top center of the picture, just above the monti cap. Not your average reef fish! Any guesses?
