  1. The light rack project

Mark another stage off my list of things to do. The light rack has been assembled and suspended over the tank. I'm going to do a little touch up here and there to make sure no exposed metal will corrode from the salty environment, but I'll have to buy some model paint to do so. Here's how it went...

The first thing I had to do was warm up the garage. It's been pretty cold recently, and I didn't want to work in 35F if I could avoid it. So I fired up this heater and let it warm up ...

The beauty of a manifold is that one external pump takes the place of multiple submersible pumps, and a series of valves provides the user to control flow rates to each item.

My goal was to run three reactors and a frag tank, and also have it available as a secondary back up to the main return pump if needed. I wanted to run the manifold ...

  5. Seachem AquaVitro Salinity Review

So I got a hold of a bucket of the highly anticipated Salinity, the first of three buckets currently available on the Central Coast! Here's what Seachem says about it:
"salinity™ is a blend of salts specifically formulated for the reef aquarium that contains all essential major, minor, and trace components found in natural reef waters, but contains no toxic or non-essential components. Additionally, ...
