Tank Entry

  1. It's all been changed...

Ok well my last entry was almost two years ago when this site was just getting going. I had posted about my 65g shallow sps reef build. Well about a month after that some things in life happened that changed my reefing plans! First, my wife and I found out that we were pregnant with our second child. Shortly after that news I received a promotion at work which required us to move to a new city. My plans were to get settled and then start my reef build back up again. Well work was crazy and then ...

Got these today for lighting the fishroom. They're T8 water resistant fixtures with a battery back up. They're also intrinsically safe, and used in places like paint booths, and other areas with high moisture content. I'm excited to see them fired up.

  5. 60 Gallon Shallow build journal.

In a small house, with 2 small children, I (suprise, suprise) have had a very hard time finding a good spot to root my tank. Even though it isn't a huge tank (60g), it has a rather large footprint (36x24). Finding a spot where it can be 2' from the wall meant hiding it way in the office or dining room. I was very unmotivated to build it in a spot where I wouldn't see it all the time. Well I've figured out a way to replace the entry way table with a dual-functioning tank stand, and have it not ...
