  1. Baby Banded Coral Shrimp (video)

    Well I posted pictures of the pregnant banded coral shrimp yesterday and she popped last night at about 11pm. I saw some babies alive and kicking in my corner overflow and in the refugium this morning. I think any babies in the display take will become Mandarin food.

  3. Finally eggs

    After setting up my initial breeding setup and then updating and moving it. After over a year, I have finally got my first clownfish spawn. Here is my first video of the pair with their eggs. NOTE: The eggs are on the left hand side of the pot.

  4. Hammer splitting + Some progress on LED DIY fixture

    Two weeks ago I had the impression my hammer coral (one ployp) was getting fatter.... well, today I am pretty sure it is splitting into two polyps! That might seem "so what?" to you, but feels very rewarding to me. It is the first stony coral in the tank that not only survived in my water and lighting but is also growing (had one Acan polpy that died, three Trumpet polyps that also died and another hammer polyp that got eaten by a rogue peppermint shrimp).

  5. Tank update and some new pics

    I haven't updated my pics in a while, but I've been fighting with the tank a lot. I have had some issues with frags not growing, and even a complete lack of polyp extension in SPS with browning out too. On top of that I got a GHA outbreak. I thought I'd been doing ok, but it really forced me to take a long, hard look at the way I kept my tank. I had cheaped out on my test equipment, so I decided it was time for an upgrade.
