When I have to go out of town, it's important to keep even these simple things cared for. Relying on someone to physically dose my tank with the proper amount daily as well as feeding my reeflings - well, you just never know if it truly was done as promised. I don't like it, but I too suffer from doubt.

At long last my tank has a sump!

the sump is a 20 tall tank, with 3 baffles forming a bubble trap. This gives me a 2 section sump, equipment and return. I'm not planning to use this for a refugium. My original plan was to add a refugium as a separate tank above the sump, but now I think I'll try a turf scrubber first and see if that does the trick. Now for pictures.

Ok. I'm in the middle of building my stand for the 200g DD. Am I crazy of is 43" way too tall for the stand height? I would like to make it so people don't have to bend down too far to see the sand bed action, at the same time I want a sturdy stand. Let me know what you think! Thanks. No pics yet. I'm starting to plan a 240 gallon tank that I want to build. 4' X 4' and 24" high. Everthing I've read suggests using 1/2" thick Acrylic for tanks that are 19" to 24" high. Not sure yet if I want to put the overflow in one of the corners or as a center column in the center of the tank. It's going in a wall which will position 1/2 half the tank in my rec room and the other half in my den/fishroom.

My question....
Can you use a thinner thickness ...
