  1. One more thing off the list!

by , 10-31-2011 at 05:46 PM (T.I.B.E.T (The Incredibly Big Expensive Tank))

Got these today for lighting the fishroom. They're T8 water resistant fixtures with a battery back up. They're also intrinsically safe, and used in places like paint booths, and other areas with high moisture content. I'm excited to see them fired up.

  2. its about that time of year...preparing for power outages

as the weather starts to get colder and the leafs begin to fall im beginning to dread winter, here most of the power lines are underground but we still get our fair share of power outages lasting a couple hours on average, this year I’m considering buying a UPS to protect my investment, im just wondering if anyone uses one? i was looking at TigerDirect and they have tones, at all different ratings and prices...sort of overwhelming
  3. When irony isn't as funny as it should be

Getting ready to go on vacation to sweet San Diego and irony strikes.

Showing Mom how easy it is to take care of the tank thanks to my Reefkeeper 2, and I drop it in water. Absolutely fried. Now I have to come up with a timer, replace my less reliable heater and hope for the best. Bad times man, bad times!

So, I know San Diego is Jessy's stomping ground, what fish stores are the ones to visit? Anyone?

What disasters struck your tank before vacation?

  5. Apex display

After last nights horrible storm that produced a 3 minute surge followed by an outage, my Apex display is no longer working. It is lit up and the controller is working as far as I can tell. However, the display is blank. I tried power cycling it a few times trough out the day and have not had any luck. Anyone have a similar experience that has found a fix? I lost a large tree last night and had to take a day off of work to clear the road, so I am hoping that I won't have to buy a new one.
