Wow, it has been ages since I've posted here! We JUST sorted our issues with the city finally after over a year. I ended up taping boxes of the approximate size and placement to my walls where the city was insiting on placing moved meters, then I videotaped my dogs walking in the hallway, people, myself on crutches, and then a pregnant friend, then sent it to the city and asked why they were insistent on unsafe placement. You couldn't go past safely with crutches and my pregnant friend ...
Got a few things done today Painting the walk board and the board that will go under the tank. I also cut a giant hole in the living room wall Tomorrow the guys are coming over to put the tank on the stand.
As most of you know I'm getting the 55 gal set up I gave away a year ago back. And planning to upgrade it to a 75. Step 1, Research I've just finished rereading parts of "Aquarium Corals" by Eric H. Borneman, which prompted me to get a copy of "Natural Reef Aquariums" by John H. Tullock. I really like Tullocks ideas for a biotype aquarium that replicates one reef zone, from one part of the world. Currently I only have 2 species of fish. 1 false ...
I am upgrading somewhat from my 34gal solana. I really like to rimless shallow look and thought that I could use a larger footprint. I found a tank thru DFWMAS forum and got it complete with stand. It's been a very long time since I have updated, so this is well over due. First things first, due to all of Melev's tank troubles I have had to work with Marineland in resolving some possible issues. As you know I was mimicking Melev's tank design but using my own dimensions. Kevin over at Marineland has been working very hard with me to ensure that all will be ok. I did give thoughts about scrapping the whole big tank idea, But things just didn't seem proportional. ...
