Questions - Need some input

I have questions that need answers.

  1. Can a tank be too clean?

Ok, so here's my problem if you want to call it that. About 3 months ago I decided to try a 3g a day water change on my 400g system. Around 8 weeks the SPS started to grow and color up nicely. Over the last 2 weeks or so my ORA Tri-color has went from Cream/Purple/ with green polyps to a REALLY light cream color, not bleach white but no purple and no green polyps. It started out Brown/Purple with green polyps.

My tests are showing 0's across the board, 450 ca and 9 DKH. Can it ...
  2. My RODI just got allot more complicated: gotta love gifts

My uncle got out of the hobby sometime around 2004 and sold most of his stuff, this week my parents went to visit and he passed along some of his last reef equipment.

5-stage spectra pure filter, with a pure check monitor, auto shut off, extra DI and chloramine filters
My first concern is what to do with it; I already have 6 stages on my current system hmmmm…11 stage double membrane? This is very tempting. All the filters and membrane need to be replaced which isn’t a big deal ...

  3. caulerpa attack!

It has been quite a while since I have posted anything on here due to time restraints and my schedule. I did have a cyanobacteria problem which I have not had in about 6 months but you know if it isn't one thing it's another and now I have a problem with two different caulerpa infestations. Caulerpa taxifolia and grape caulerpa the grape sprouted up within the last week oddly enough nothing has been introduced to the tank in about 10 months so I assume it was all just laying dormant this whole time. ...
  4. Bullied chromis poor feeding response: suggestions?

I have a group of 3 chromis virdis in my 135g reef. One of my chromis (the largest one of group) gets picked on by a smaller chromis, and as such has a very poor feeding response. I can normally get him/her to eat mysis after a while, but it takes a great deal of effort so that he grabs it instead of all the other fish. I am pretty sure if I wasn't target feeding him he would have died a long time ago. Suggestions?

that us supposed to be a triccolor front and center there, it is the coral inspiring this question, as you can see there is only growth in one branch, i remember reading a post on a forum saying if i were to clip the "dormant" branches it could encourage new growth. im just wondering if someone can let me know if this is true
