  1. Canopy

    well i have bloging allot lately and you guys have been a big help i am farly new to the salt water and reef but i have had fresh water my whole life so i know allitle more then the average joe so i am going to be building a canopy is there anything i should know before i attempt this endeavor my tank is a 150g it is one of the 15g that is the same length as a 55 but it is pretty tall and wide i guess it is consedered a space saver i am going to be building my own light set up 4- 48in t5ho lights ...

  3. Ballasts???

    ok guys im am going to be building a canopy for my 150 gal and i have a 2 bulb t5vho light but i dont think it will fit in my canopy so i am looking into buying a ballasts to run 4 t5vho bulbs 48in, i am looking to get one at a good price i found 1 in my hunt it is the icecap one and it is 175 i think thats to much any ideas on where i could find one at a cheaper price and also i was thinking about doing the light in t12vho because of the higher watts but i was told by the people at icecap that ...

  4. Vortech your pendants

    I've been ignoring how the pendants were hanging at an angle over the SPS vat, but it bugged me. I wanted to direct the light down into the vat and get them level, so I thought about various options.

    The easiest solution was to use one of the spare Vortech magnets I use when building sumps to keep the two pendants straight. Simple, free, and it works.

    UPDATE,

    So here we go....., so let me just quickly post that the DIY reflectors arrived, canopy installed. Its looks amazing. Pic are coming right now........



    Reflectors are little dirty. I cleaned with white plan vinegar. It is clean like glass.
