  1. 12-15-11 Pics and updates

Just did a water change and thought I would snap some pics. Sorry for hazy water... didn't have much time and only correction I used was "I'm feeling lucky" on Picasa.

Goal all this time was to make and keep a KISS tank... and thankfully my tank has really become bullet proof to either my stupidity and/or lack of attention.

    Equipment:

    - 4 X 24w HO T5's (2 X Aquablue Specials and 2 X Blue Plus)
    - AC 110 (HOB Sump)
    - Tunze 9002 (In HOB Sump) ...

  2. Chemi-Clean and Skimmer Cleaning

So today I decided to deal with the Cyano that started in my new frag tank that was connected to the system during the summer. I believe the initial outbreak was a combination of: 20 lbs of new sand and the new acrylic frag tank itself. 3. Tank birthday, 40 years.

I haven't really posted here before, in the blogs anyway but I have some time and some pictures so what the heck.
As some people already know, I set up my reef in 1971 and so far it is still running. Ug filter and all.
So I figured I would post a picture. It is a 100 gallon mixed reef with a few SPS but mostly LPS corals and about 20 fish. All of the rock I either collected myself or built from PVC pipe covered in cement.
I recently changed from MH to LED.

  4. Day 300: Ten months old

I've been swamped lately and haven't had much time to spend online with y'all. However, I had to take a picture when my tank turned 300 days old though.

On December 6th, the reef reached 10 months old. Over all, it is doing quite well. I watch for warning signs of problems and try to anticipate potential surprises.
