  1. The 400g is officially running (Blog #500!)

Last weekend, I spent two days moving livestock and rock from the 215g into the 400g and the 60g tanks, both which were ready and waiting.

As I'd discussed previously, my original plan was to tie all three tanks together into the common sump so the water would be shared and all parameters would match. The 60g was plumbed into the sump already, but the 400g was running independently, not quite full enough to drain. It had over 300g of saltwater in it, along with sand and rock and ...
  2. Ecotech's ReefLink arrived

Yesterday I got my shipment from Ecotech Marine. It included the new ReefLink device that was on display at MACNA two months ago. This connects to your home (or business) network to communicate with the Radion LED fixtures and in the future, wireless Vortech pumps.

Since I'm a beta tester, I'll be providing feedback about how it works to Ecotech. Here are some teaser pictures.

  3. Pictures of the tank

Here are a few pictures I took over the past couple of days, but check out this link first. Tim came over yesterday to help with the tank move and posted up his nice pictures on DFWMAS:

I wanted to do a review of a product that I have been using for about a year, so I feel that I have pretty good experience with it. It is The Flipper glass cleaner. http://www.flippercleaner.com/

I saw this at MACNA 2012 in Dallas, and after watching a few demos of it in person, I had to have one. The booth at MACNA said it was selling really well, they had gone through all they brought, and promised to ship me one when ...

  5. Rod's Food arrived

I just got a shipment of Rod's Food delivered today. The Fedex guy woke me up, actually... and since I know he does such a nice job packing the food with dry ice, I put the box on the counter and went back to bed. An hour and a half later, I started brewing some coffee to start my day and fired up the Nikon.

Rod's special packaging is almost magical. When you open up the box, all you have is frozen food, with no trace of the dry ice.
