  1. White Spots/legions no monti cap?? Need some help to ID this problem!!

Please forgive the crappy pictures, but I tried to make the problem spots stand out a little easier.
So I have seen some spots on this coral that are white, and I have just been keeping an eye on it. The other day while inspecting closely with some magnification, I noticed that around some of the spots, there are these lesion looking things.
I can't figure out what could be doing this, unless it is a hermit crab. I had one that liked to climb all over this coral, and then sit in one ...

  2. Back from Baltimore, Maryland

Over the weekend, I flew out to speak to the Chesapeake Marine Aquaria Society, www.cmas-md.org . It was a lively group, and gave me the perfect opportunity to try out my new camera gear in earnest. I almost feel like a newbie as I try to grasp what the D90 can do, especially with the new lenses.

I visited a few LFS (local fish stores), attended the all day event and spoke about pests, and wrapped up the day with a visit to a member's home to see his tanks. I also visited the downtown ...

  4. OneReef's new 150g upgrade

After letting my 75g grow for almost a couple of years, I was getting bored with it and decided to move up for more coral to grow out and to add more and larger fish.
Hence, the decision to move up to a 150g. I would have liked to go bigger, but it was going upstairs and I didn't want to stress the floor more than necessary. After speaking to the homebuilder, he felt confident that the floor could support the weight. So I moved forward. I got Richard to custom order me a 150g with one ...

  5. Cyano Struggle Continues

Well, after I set up my new tank I was feeling very pleased with myself, but reality would soon kick me in the testes once again as I have cyano covering all the sand and some rock. I attribute it to the stress of moving everything over to the new tank and the increased bioload of a couple new fishes. I think in addition to this, taking the system off of full zeo didn't help things much. I had a terrible time with getting the nutrients just right with zeo, mostly just starved the corals. I had ...
