Well, took part in my first frag-swap over the weekend. I found the event very interesting and exciting. I reserved some items in advance and of course I had to make a few impromptu acquisitions as well. I have pictures and video of the new critters! Please forgive my camera skills, still learning the how to operate the new camera. Cosmic Chalice, Green Slimer, Tyree Sunset Monipora Danae Cosmic Chalice ...
When I get new fish, I prefer to put them in quarantine for a duration to make sure they are healthy and well-fed. I set up my old quarantine tank on the angled tank's stand, and filled it up with reef water, a heater, a MP10, and a simple LED light on top. PVC fittings were addded to give fish a place to hide if need be. Keeping the tank at 78F is easier this time, because the tank is lower in the room. The previous one would get hotter due to warmer air up high. ...

And they are super cool and I like to watch them swim and play and eat and swim....(breathe) Three litttle Panda Gobies that I'm lucky if I ever see again (.5-.75" in size) and Hoover (Named by Marc) the Mimic Filefish. Loooooove the mimic coolest fish I've seen in a long time. I picked up some fish for Marc's tank too and he'll be picking up the package tomorrow morning. ...
Two weeks ago I had the impression my hammer coral (one ployp) was getting fatter.... well, today I am pretty sure it is splitting into two polyps! That might seem "so what?" to you, but feels very rewarding to me. It is the first stony coral in the tank that not only survived in my water and lighting but is also growing (had one Acan polpy that died, three Trumpet polyps that also died and another hammer polyp that got eaten by a rogue peppermint shrimp). Must be a sign ...
