  1. Goodbye Finger Leather

    Well I switched lights a couple months back from a 150W hanging pendant to a 150W fixture with legs so about 8" closer to the tanks surface. On top of that the old bulb was wicked old. Knowing it was a new bulb, closer to the surface, i assumed it would be a shock to all the corals so i adjusted my photoperiod accordingly.   2. A plethora of pictures

    I think this is my first blog post here on Reef Addicts.Today I've been trying to make some changes to my rock work, namely removing a lot of it, because of it catching food and other undesirables. I also went through a major scrub down on some hair algae about two months ago, and added 6 mithrax crabs that have destroyed the bubble algae. As much as I think they are jerks, I have to contend that they do a good job.

    Hey everyone,

    While I was up at the NHL Winter Classic this past weekend I of course managed to pop into a LFS in the Pittsburgh area. The store was called AquaWorld and was a very large store with tons of exotic fish and beautiful coral.

    so i got the 75 running today. as you all know this hobby is about tinkering and spending way too much money and time on your tank.
    i woke up at 11 and completely re did my tank. im talking completely. modified my sump. re did all the plumming. i broke a bulkhead and bought a vortec mp20 which i highly recommend to anyone. that thing can move water. ive never seen one in person and the unit is much larger than i had imagined but it is nothing compared to the amount of koralias you would need ...

This way I can access everything in the sump and still be able to view my fuge.
