  1. Just a Gripe

Random gripe... Any type of Reef Putty stinks, and unfortunately there are times with Superglue doesn't cut it. Just a well place frag, with plenty of putty crammed into the crevices.. become dislodged. While putty really does harden, it doesn't adhere to anything.

  2. Quick Questions

So after asking the wife about my bookshelf tank she nixed the idea. She did mention though I can put whatever I want in the cellar after I clean it and move the treadmill and exercise bike down there. Now some questions. I have a house built in 1880, the cellar really is a "cellar" think creepy rock walls and stuff like in a horror movie. It has a concrete floor that is not exactly level. Here's the short replay: I got a 12g aquapod after being out of the hobby for a while, and upgraded it to a 55 gallon tank where I built the stand and canopy myself. 4. Careful with button polyps, they spread like crazy!

I used to have a 12 gal. aquapod, and since upgrading to my 55 I have decided to go with all sps/lps and zoas. One of the few holdovers left from that tank is a rock of turquoise blue palys that is absolutely stunning in actinic light. Unfortunately I just don't have room for them in the tank, and in the process of moving around some coral I just threw it in the corner behind my rose bta. Man, that thing spreads, drops frags, and they attach to the rock fast! If I put a small frag of them close ...

  5. 3 tangs died in one day

I'm been reef keeping close to decade and had strange experience this last week.

My last tank lasted 6 years before losing power while away. I have slowly and carefully restocked tank. I had 4 tangs in system in two different connected tanks.

All fish were quarantined with Copper Citrate and Prazipro for 2 weeks. All ate well and and had not visible scars, parasites, fgungal infactions ect.

I had them in same system for about 10 weeks and 3 of four died ...
