    So living in an apartment in the Bronx is not really conducive in my opinion to setting up the incredibly large reef aquarium of my dreams. So instead of staying out of the hobby cold turkey, I decided that I would challenge myself a bit by setting up an 8 gallon pico reef aquarium in my dining room. until I can no longer stand the urge and decide to go bigger.   2. New Sump design

    Long time I didn't update my tank build!!! In short things were really slow due to a load of traveling...
    Maintaining the tank and frag tank setup in the basement has become a chore due to the limited time, so I will be modifying my setup and adding a larger sump in the basement and will connect the frag tanks, nano cubes, and a couple of small coming tanks.
    This should help decrease testing time and water changes and dosing... Realize it will pose more risk of losing the whole system ...

  3. An update to my 40Br Sumpless Reef Tank

    My Sumpless 40Br Mixed Reef Tank. Set up since August 2012 (Moved from SC), most corals have been with me for about a year prior to the move.

    Tank: Aqueon 40BR

    Stand and Canopy: The stand is a nice entrance piece of furniture and the "half-canopy" and fixture cover was made by me.

  4. My Saltwater Transition

    I've been working on this project for around a month. The planning has been going on for more than a year. With that being said, i'm a newb when it comes to this.
    For many years, I have kept freshwater tanks. After a recent move, I got rid of everything except the tank itself, and I decided to change over to a saltwater tank. I sure that I am ready for the challenge and am interested in learning the new techniques for this new part of the hobby.

  5. 27g cube

    life has kept me busy but ive had a lil time to build my g/f Emily a new nano setup. this will be her new zoa garden. tank is a marine land 27g cube 20x18x20, filter is a cpr aquafuge, tunze nano top off and a reef keeper lite. vortech mp-10 and a ecotech radion gen 1. stand was hand built by slef and a kreg jig(awesome).

    stand is made of 3/4 oak plywoood, fron door comes off completly and drawer has a quiet close slide.
