    I finished up getting all my paperwork done for quotes today. We approached 4 different vendors when it was all said and done with. I also approached Oceans Motions about design feedback given that most of the circulation is going to be done via their four-way pumps. So now we wait.

    We've been keeping ourselves semi occupied by chasing down some power problems we've been having in rooms around the tank room. Kevin's trying to plan how he wants to run and control all the additional ...

  2. My 240 upgrade (Huge post)

    Now for the rest of the update

    Its the weekend so work has been done, I glad to say the the outside of the fish room is 95% done. Still need to clear coat and cut a piece of trim, trim the rest of the basement and then save for carpet. But I did get paint on the walls, trim installed and have started on the inside. Bulkhead came in yesterday so I can soon start on the plumbing.

  3. How I spent my birthday or Day 6 of the build...

    Day 6 of work or What a way to spend your birthday.

    Well I fell into some money so I now have enough to finish this project 100%.

    Well we started by doing the electrical, 20 outlets in all. I wanted to make sure I had enough....




    Then it was on to insulation, and I did put 6 mil plastic on as well just no picture of the plastic.

  4. Power Outage.....Not Good

    So, our entire city (pop. 5500) lost power for about 10 hours last Thursday.

    Thankfully, it was caused by a storm which lowered the temperature from triple digits down into the 80s. I was out of town for work, so I couldn't tend to my tank (10 gallons). I was quite fearful as bad things happen quickly in small tanks.

    I have a battery powered air pump, but it doesn't work well when I'm not there to turn it on. I had my wife stir the tank regularly until I got home Thursday ...
