  1. Possible Bristleworm Infestation.

So I started out with an aquarium that was loaded with fish but I noticed a few started to die off for no apparent reason. All of my Green Chromis have disappeared. I snail gone and I am only left with 2 Purple Firefish, 1 Clownfish a two Zebra hermit Crabs, 1 Sand Sifting Cucumber and thankfully all 4 of my shrimp. Will I took a look at the tank in the evening and noticed these little guys... Bristle Worms. One that was exceeding 3 inches long. Top that with an algae bloom that made my beautiful ...
  2. Aptasia Solutions #2 The Peppermint Shrimp.

Well my Berghia Nudibrach plan hasn't seem to have any effect on the Aptasia in the aquarium. So I decided that may it needed a little help since I have seen a few more Apstasia sprout up in other location. So I purchase two peppermint shrimp to assist in the battle and within 2 days one of the Aptasia is gone and they are living in peaceful existence with my two Cleaner Shrimp.

  3. Apex update to Dashboard

About a year ago, Apex released their beta Dashboard firmware. A friend of mine installed it instantly and raved about it, but I held off. Beta means it was still in the testing phase, and I didn't know what may or may not happen with it installed. My tank already has a number of areas where things could potentially go wrong (power outage, tornado, house falling in) so why add computer error to the mix?

  4. Pictures under 20,000K lighting

These images were resized only, no color adjustment. These images were taken under the new ReefBrite Twin Arc bulbs running 20,000K. 250w - 400w - 250w cofiguration. Since the center of the tank has a huge glass centerbrace, the 400w helps punch through the glass.

  5. Changing of the metal halide bulbs

The metal halide bulbs are key to growing corals in my reef. Day after day, the bulbs light up the display and the corals grow. Over time, the bulbs weaken and even shift spectrums, which can result in unpleasant pinks or yellows that make the corals appear ugly... and even worse: algae will grow. The easiest cure is to replace the bulbs. I've been dragging my feet on this project out of sheer stubbornness. I really wanted to change them out when the 400g was back. That's when I have to take ...
