  2. Tank poisoned somehow??

    In the past 6 months my tank has been going through a slow death. All normal parameters are normal so it's been very puzzling. The only thing left to do that I hope will resolve this is to take everything out of the sump (fuge, rubble, etc.) and give it a good cleaning and leave it bare afterwards. I have had RTN, STN, Polyp bale out, etc and am at a complete loss. I have lost many of my favorites with over 30 colonies and countless small pieces gone so I am not a happy camper in regards to my reef ...

  3. sump update

    here is my list so far
    1, 20 gal long tank
    2, overflow box, tubing,bulkhead ( to sump)
    3,mag 5 pump
    4,pvc 1/2" & 1 " cleaner, cement
    tomorrow I take tank to get hole drilled, will get glass cut for dividers.
    things I need silicone , padding for floor,eggcrate, lots of luck
    if i missed anything please feel free to add.

  4. DIY Cooling Fans

    I have been having an issue with heat build up and one easy way to deal with it (without getting a chiller) is to use fans. Fans on an aquarium help to increase evaporation, which cools the aquarium because some of the warm water is replaced with top off water. It does mean the top off water will be used more quickly, so if you go this route, be prepared to refill your top off reservoir more often.
