On checking out my tank yesterday evening, i was looking at the zoanthids... I noticed the green guys looked like they've been munched on or are wilting and the red/brown ones had a white patch on them.. Top arrow points to the "dull looking" one, right arrow points at the "injured" one white patches on the polyps (sorry for the mediocre photos, was using my phone cam) ...
Can someone please tell me what the steps are to "seed" dry rock using existing live rock? Thanks in advance, Jim
One of my Chromis got pop-eye for no apparent reason. Only thing that has changed is recently is that I added a new pump - Reeflo Dart Hybrid. I have it valved back and the pump is sucking a lot of bubbles from the skimmer (until I get the new sump plumbed in). Does anyone think that the pump can be the cause or does anyone have another idea. The rest of the tank is fine.
Hi all, I decided since I got some new corals tonight that I'd update you all on the status of my tank. I've got great coraline coverage over all my rocks except the areas that are mostly in shade. To go from dead rock to this much purple surprises me. I never had this much in my old tanks. My fish are doing well. I lost the neon cleaner goby...never saw it again. Fish List: 2 helfrichis firefish 1 mimic filefish 1 solarensis wrasse 1 psuedochromis ...
Here are my parameters: what can i do. I have started to add 1tsp of buffer 3x a day. 0 phos 0 nitrate 1.7 alk. 550 cal. 1.025 salinity 8.07 ph. I have a sulfur reactor, as well as a calcium reactor. No corals, as well as no fish, however getting some shipped tomorrow by noon.
