  1. Firefish...

    I just added a common firefish to my tank. What can I expect in terms of behavior and habits?
    So far it's just been hanging out in front of a flow pump. I'm just glad it hasn't jumped out...
    It's eating well and not fighting. Do they adapt well to reef tanks...?
  2. Tank update

    Well it's been a while since I have wrote a tank update so here we go. I am still fighting the caulerpa outbreak in my tank but with regular trimmings and one of my newest tank addition (a yellow tang) it is starting to come under control a bit.

    My wife found that there was water magically appearing around the tank and after further investigation I discovered my pump was leaking that cycled water in my closed loop system. I have yet to get the time to try and figure out a new way of ...

  3. Need Feeding and Coral Input

    One of these days I'm going to go all out and post pictures and videos of my tank, but today is not that day I have a few random questions to ask and would appreciate any accurate input. Unfortunately, some of these questions are rather long-winded, but as we all know, it's fun to talk about saltwater tanks and going off on random tangents is really just part of the hobby when you truly love it.   4. Update and stock question

    Well the 7 gallon has officially been moved...as of last night it has been moved from one room down three stairs to another and I can honestly say I never want to have to do that again. Unfortunately during the transition my anemone that was already looking a little ill took a turn for the worst and is no longer with us but fortunately the rest of the tank and occupants seems to be doing fine with the new location the corals are not in their final positions nor is all the rock work but for now ...

  5. How much food should you feed your livestock? A lot!

    At our last club meeting, Dr Ron Shimek spoke to us about what real science proves when it comes to fish eating habits. He started his talk while tornado sirens wailed outside and hail pounded on the roof above our heads. His microphone was set up incorrectly and we really couldn't hear what he was saying all that well, but the audience did what they could when they weren't fidgeting or wincing for the damage their cars were likely enduring.
