  1. Getting the water params right

    Since I got an LFS to do some cleanup and water testing (previous blog post) I've been working to get the water parameters back into normality.

    I'll post about it, telling my journey, for I hope others with the same skill level as mine (low...) and also the same time to dedicate to the tank as I have (not much...) can learn from my experience.

  2. A few coral pictures

    The reef continues to rock along on auto-pilot... This acro grew from three twiggy branches a year ago to this. Those white tips are actually quite blue in person.

    The fungia babies grow into colonial plates. This one on the right is two on the same skeletal disk, and both refuse to give up making it look like a pyramid.

    From time to time, I've heard of ballasts catching fire and homes being burned in the process. I'd surmise the majority tend to be VHO ballasts, but that's conjecture on my part. ...

  5. Re-doing, re-aquascaping, re-updating?

    So it's been a couple of months, and I thought I'd give my latest tank update. Last update, I was fully prepared to tear all the way down and start a new challenge. After ridding myself of a few pieces or coral, I essentially re-aquascaped the tank. It's not my favorite version of my tank (because naturally I wasn't happy with that and screwed it all up. Move one rock...), but I don't feel like moving all these rocks again for a little while.
