Tank - Full Summary

Ok where to start.

This is what I started with a 65g in the living room with a 30g sump, Mag 7 pump, Aqua C Remora Pro and a few Korella 3's. Nice little tank but it was extremely noisy and the saltwater container took up a lot of room. I also didn't know any better and put a Koran Angle in the tank. Man what a beautiful fish and until I put a brain coral in the tank it was a model citizen.

So, I am trying to blog for the first time. My 4.5 year old 210 gallon tank isn't doing well. It had about 2 years in the middle when it really looked nice. I overstocked it. Didn't do my water changes as I should. In my defence I have been traveling hard-core for the last three years. As long as I kept up the water changes I could keep a over stocked tank and I didn't have any problems. As soon as I slacked off I got Ich and lost 5 fish. Corals were still ok though at that point. A little about me, my name is Lonnie and I am an instructor at the University of Northwestern Ohio. I teach in the hi performance division of the automotive side. I've been into reef tanks and saltwater about a year and a half. It started when I wanted to surprise my daughter with a larger 10g tank for her goldfish (that she had for 4 years). Coigula is the affectionate name of one of my 3 tangs (and my screen name). I have been keeping reefs since 2002 and am on second tank. I have followed some of the trends in hobby and ignored others.

So I am attempting my second attempt at a reef tank. I will try to document as much as I can as I go. I have a lot of it laid out so far but money limits how fast i can do this. I have to get the "bones of the system up withing a week or so because I have to clean out a bedroom for my new baby room. The tank will be mostly softies and I hope a tone of zoas (my favorite).
