Macro shots from tonight

Rate this Entry
I recently made some Top Down Photo Boxes, so I had one handy to take a few pictures. I'll be far happier to share pictures from the new clean tank set up, compared to these holding vats. I've got no space, there are various issues that ruin the shots, and sadly I've lost some corals due to fluctuations in water quality during all of my travels over the past 3.5 months since the 280g was broken down.

This first shot is from the propagation section in my sump. These are tiny Green Hammer polyps growing in on the skeleton where a large polyp once stood proudly. In its place, you can see one of my mini carpet anemones.

Some mature Hammer polyp sweepers.

A couple of acans

Multi-colored Frogspawn that I got at Next Wave

A Favia that I've had for a long time.

Blue Tort, hanging in there.

Tricolor Acropora, could be healthier.

Blue tipped Acropora sp. from my friend in Austin.

This is a surprise SPS that was almost gone in my 280g, but in the holding vat it has done well and grown in.

Some Lavendar Frillies - I can't get rid of them since I love their coloration.

I did hear from Marineland that my tank was water tested and ready to crate up for shipment. I hope to receive it on a Wednesday, maybe the 27th or alternately Nov 3rd. The latter would be better so I can get the fishroom buttoned down and closer to completion. I'll be in Orange County and San Diego this weekend, so that doesn't leave me a lot of time to prep the room.

Jeremy here. We've met at MAX last year. You interviewed my booth-mate Alan about his diy two part doser. Anyway I'll stop by the booth, and I'll bring the Crown

It's good to see them holding up. Only a matter of time till they all regain their former glory in the 400. Also, I was wondering what type of skimmer you would reccomend for a 90 gallon tank. I'm looking for one that will be able to use the Avast Marine Works swabbie. Thanks for your time.

That little one by Avast Marine is quite the bargain, and would probably be fine for your 90g. Let us know how you like it.
