Hello All,

My 1st Blog entry and coincidentally, my 1st Reef Tank... ( Well, in the very beginning stages...) I'm an accomplished Aqaurium nut for over 20 years and just recently accepted a position within my co to travel less and stay home more, so, I'm going to begin the voyage to becoming a reefer. I broke down my 120 gallon Yellow Labochromis cichlid tank nearly 3 weeks ago and am hopeful to go and p/up a 20 gallon breeder tank that I found on CL and convert/modifiy it for a sump tank.
I've built a Weir/overflow using Melevins info as a template. Am patiently waiting on how to properly plumb a reef tank.... ( I have seen some examples from my LFS, buit, they seem not to take into account pump removal, ball valves etc....

Any ways, wish me luck.

Aaron

Have you been reading the latest plumbing articles on the front page? The How To Plumb a Reef Tank is coming soon, as I'm doing that with my Marineland 400g. If you want to add some pictures to your blog entry, you can. Move your mouse over the blog title, and a small crayon appears. Click on that to edit and insert more information into your summation.

Marc, Yes, I have been reading the articles especially the bulkhead one, as that will be my next challenge. I think the greater the interest on an email reply @per craigslist) the greater amount of time one has to wait for that reply... arghh!!!!! 30 Gallon Long for 30$$$$ only on CL... If only they would respond!

I've heard you can buy new aquariums at Petco for $1 per gallon starting January 2: http://www.dfwmas.org/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=79298
