A plethora of pictures

I think this is my first blog post here on Reef Addicts.Today I've been trying to make some changes to my rock work, namely removing a lot of it, because of it catching food and other undesirables. I also went through a major scrub down on some hair algae about two months ago, and added 6 mithrax crabs that have destroyed the bubble algae. As much as I think they are jerks, I have to contend that they do a good job.

Its a 75 gallon with 2 Koralia 3 power heads, a mag5 & mag7 for return pumps, a cheap 30 gallon sump with a reef octopus skimmer, and caulerpa for my macros. Lighting is a 4x54 current t5 fixture.

And some photos, taken with a point and shoot. I am constantly trying to learn this camera, so I can get better photos with it. So please, bear with me.

There is a colony of zoas in this photo that are close to goners, and I am at odds end on what to do. I have dipped them in coral rx pro because it looks like zoa pox, but that didnt fix it and I am not so sure that actually the issue anymore. They have been closed constantly for a week now, with only 2-3 heads partially opening, and it doesnt look too good for them. There is nothing in the vicinity that would be stinging them.

This guy is starting to get his color back. I got him for cheap because it had bleached out, but if you look closely, it is starting to get its blue back. I was told this was originally a superman monti. Hopefully, it will come back full force with time.

These guys went through a zoanthid eating spider spell. It took me a few days to figure out what was going on, and they didnt look so hot after I nabbed the little turd and dipped em. They used to be so much more vibrant.

Nevermind my fat finger....

I will take the time to make a PSA... always dip your corals. I think some of the problems are what I get for being a newb

That gonipora is lovely! I wanted that thing tonight, but didn't pull the trigger. Congrats.

With the zoas, I'm very tempted to tell you to dip it in hydrogen peroxide as that seems to be the latest cure for pest issues, but I don't know the concentration and/or risks to your polyps. Since they are closed, they are somewhat safe, but I wouldn't do it long. The image appears to show some stuff on the zoas, but I can't tell what I'm seeing. Have you taken a turkey baster to it already, and perhaps used a very soft toothbrush to remove anything?

Yea, it had a strong current going across it when it was being dipped. The stuff thats on it are the swollen, little white bumps on the polyps.

Sounds like zoa pox. I had a really bad case on all my zoanthids. I finally beat it with one Furan 2 packet to a cup of water dipping every day for three days. You need to get rid of it before your other zoas get infected. It's tough stuff and might not die the first time but have patience and try again after a few days. It took me over a month to get rid of it.
