The very first MASM Hobbyist of the year award was given to Tal Sweet (fishtal) for everything that he has done for MASM and the hobby both locally and nationally.

Tal's special interests lie in captive breeding, and he currently supplies several of our best LFS with top quality captive bred clown fish.

Tal has been a true inspiration to myself and many others. He has been heavily involved in the formation, implementation, and an active participant in MASM Breeding Initiative.
What is the MASM Breeders Initiative?

He has set up a great website with breeding info that is easy to understand and helps make captive breeding possible for the average hobbyist. Home

Tal is also very active at RSF - Redirection which is another great captive breeding site who's mission is to foster a diverse stewardship community that protects coral reefs through collaborative action, research, education and aquaculture initiatives.

Congrats Tal!

Hey Congrats man!! Captive Breeding is something that interests me as well.. No one seems to be doing it up here, other then freshwater.. Our local Aquarium Society doesn't have any marine breaders either.

Thanks Deb and everyone! It's a big honor to win this award. I'm really excited about all the new people around the country that are getting involved in captive breeding. If anyone is interested, check out the program that we have started here in Michigan: http://www.masm.org/mForums/tm.aspx?m=33558 The MASM Breeding Initiative is open to everyone, not just locals.
