Chiton Eggs

Rate this Entry
This morning I was gazing into the tank when something caught my eye. A Chiton was releasing eggs. It was the first time I had seen this happen and luckily I had my video camera handy. I would also like to thank Mr. Midas Blenny for being a character as usual.

Thanks. No the eggs did not last long everyone was looking to get a snack. Looks like there is going to be a fragswap in February, should be fun.

That was a really nice video, and after the day I've had it was definitely needed. Do you have a mated pair of coral banded shrimp? Cool to see the chiton releasing eggs like that.

Yes, I do have a mated pair of shrimp. They seem to realase babies every 6-8 weeks. There a small ones all over my system hiding in nooks and cranies. I am interested to see if the ones that made it to the refugium will make it to adault size.

Hope you have a more mellow day today!
