T.I.B.E.T (The Incredibly Big Expensive Tank)

Just a quick little update. Tibet passed her water with no issues.

We've been battling with the city about our electrical and water meters for almost 7 months now. They are trying to force meter moves to locations that are convient for them in our house, but not logical for living, or re-sale in the future. Its been annoying, tedious, and easily equatable to teeth pulling. Pretty much we've been waiting for someone at the city to realize that there is no logic in moving meters into a narrow hallway mounted on the wall where they will be a hazard for anyone in the house, pets included. The meters are fine where they are, they aren't breaking any codes, and the replacements, according to my otherhalf (who does the same work for a living), would only take a competant electrician about 20-30 minutes to complete. He would do it, however in our city it is not allowed and would negate our permit. Bottom line I'm not standing for the city cutting corners in my own home because someone is too lazy to take a hint of pride in their work.

Unfortunately our meter lines run in our fishroom space, and this has held things up far worse then we ever expected as I wanted the tank online and running by now.

That all being said though there have been other things happening. Our water change system is 80% up and running, the room is wired up for power (but not yet connected), and we have some of the materials to frame in the room.

We're preparing to take down our 180g grow out tank in the next few weeks. We'll be stripping it for parts; lights, pumps, RKE, and the monster skimmer. We need the supplies so we can start assembling things in place, and I can start sourcing out storage and organizational options for the fish room.

The other half has been fiddling with DIY LED lighting, testing out small configurations and set-ups. I really do want to go with LEDs, but I'm still not convinced the initial buy in of either supplies or a pre-made pendant is the best choice. The technology certainly is coming along quickly, but not as fast as I hoped.

This is taking much longer then expected.

Glad to finally see you guys are back... I had been wondering if the water test was a complete failure and that your house was out in the ocean somewhere.

Welcome back. It's been a while. I thought you'd be bragging about a full blown reef by now.

Thanks guys! We pretty much both got swallowed by our respective jobs, then summer came and that is high-sports season for us, then last week I swear it was September. Apparently I blinked though, because its the end of October!
