180g Tank Build - 11 mos. and counting.

Finally had to register.

I've been meaning to register for some time, but my laziness has prevented me making the step until today. The fiance was on my case about keeping pictures of my reef's progress and what better way to do that than with a blog. Here we go!

First, I'll introduce myself. My name is Bryan - out of northern colorado. I've been at the reefing game for about 2.5 years now - long enough to realize how much work and money it takes. I'm still here, so you'd be correct to say that I think the rewards make the whole thing worth it.

I started out with a 125 gallon in my living room and the engineer in me had me plumbing a fish room in the basement before everything was said and done. I ended up finishing the basement and going with a new 180g tank down in the basement and moved everything down there. It's my dream setup. I have everything as automated as possible (this is my favorite part of the whole reefing game). I have a reef angel controller with custom code for my setup, a frag tank, 3 homemade LED arrays (one over the fuge).

Anyway, I'm going to try to document my setup for posterity and hopefully I can help cross pollinate ideas with other reefaddict members!

-Bryan

FoCo. I've been to a few MASC get togethers - frag swaps and the like. I think they do the one at the budwiser event center - and they may have had the big one at the aquarium down in Denver a couple years back.
