Rate this Entry
one of the new components on my RODI is an auto shut off valve, everything seems to be working, however when the autoshut off turns off, the lowest the preasure will drop on the systeem is 28psi and waste water is still produced, ive tryed waiting up to 20min for it to drop but it doesnt....does anyone have suggestions?

    Just a few thoughts...

Bad valve? Could have a faulty membrane or something inside. Input pressure too high (probably not likely)? If you cut the input water and then turn it back on, does it still "leak"? Usually these systems run with a kent float valve that turns off the RO/DI output. You could have a problem with the float valve where it doesn't really shut all the way off because of debris where the float is supposed to plug the water tube. When it's at 28psi, is the system still generating RO/DI on the 'clean' side of the filter?

my RODI isnt feeding in to my sump its going to a float valve in a 6g bucket, with an valve in the bottom to fill 5gpails, in the past remembering i was filling pails was tricky so i figure now i can turn on the system before i plan on doing a waterchange.

i had gotten a 55gallon foodgrade barrel but it was just too large for my little system water would be sitting too long i never really need more than 6gal at any one time.
