has anyone used "NPX Bioplastics" im looking to start using biopelets and am looking for some good types to use. The store near me only carryes the pellets i mentioned above.
I have used them and sold them. Decent pellet but far from Vertex or Dr.Tims Active Pearls which we stock. if you want a good start to pellets, I recommend using vertex or AP's...I can send you more info and pricing if you are interested.
I've been using the Bulk Reef Supply bio-pellets. They seem to work fine to me, and I have not experienced any problems with clumping at low flow rates. I'm using a NextReef SMR1 reactor with them. ReefWerks, in your opinion, what makes Vertex or Dr Tim's variants far better than NPX or other brands?
I have used BRS before and they are a decent pellet. Dr.Tims is unique. Its 100% all natural and supports a wider range of support for our systems. They flow amazing, and just overall a far superior media...IMO...
I wanted to initially try the Dr Tim's pellets as well, as normally his name seems to be on good products. The BRS pellets were easier for me because I can get them from the same place I get my calcium and magnesium supplies. The BRS pellets are also 100% natural polyhydroxyalkanoates. I was at first put off by their weird cylindrical shape with slightly convex ends... but after observing them in a reactor, I think the shape may aid in their ability to tumble in low flow.
