Mostly Pictures of What I have gotten done

Rate this Entry
The sump arrived on Wednesday, I rushed home from work to get started on everything that needed to be done.

At Marc's suggestion I filled the bottom of the stand with sand instead of concrete, it took five bags of sand.

Even conned my wife into helping some.

I took a bunch more pictures but Photobucket is not working with me right now, it seems there was an error during upload with many of the pics.

Very nice. I noticed the dual pumps and I'm curious to learn more. Obviously, you likely get redundancy at the expense of power and higher pump and electricity costs. Sound right? Anything else I'm missing? Do you consider that design a luxury, or has it saved your bacon a time or two already?

One pump is for the tanks return. The second will be running a manifold which is not complete at this time. I am waiting on 1 reactor to come in and I have to get some valves that I forgot to order. I also have to find a way to get from 1inch pipe to 1/4 vinyl tubing. However, the pumps are plumbed for redundancy so that if one need to pulled offline the other can run moth the return and the manifold.

Looking great. I really like the look of the black pvc and spa flex. Wishing I would have ordered some for my set up. As it turns out, I would have had plenty of time for it. Seeing yours come together is making me recatch the bug to finish my upgrade.

Yes, once you go black you never go back? I like it too, there are no purple primer stains and it just looks sexy. It is difficult when gluing to tell if the piece was primed or not. Phil, Marc is begging for more people to order some Model F sumps which would work for your narrow tank.

I'm not sure I want to know what shipping is from Texas to Alaska on something that size.
