T.I.B.E.T (The Incredibly Big Expensive Tank)

Sump!

A couple of days ago I drove this sucker home;

6ftL x 2ftD x 20"T

Last night I did the old 'quick snap a photo with your iphone' deal, and voila, photographic proof.

I'm just waiting for a few packages in the mail now to turn TIBET on for another test run. I've ordered Hammerheads and Dart pumps to run the return and Oceans Motions. I have sourced out a sand supplier, thankfully he's local 'cause I don't really want to pay to ship 500lbs of sand across the frozen Canadian wasteland. I've also got more plumbing coming in soon. My post-person probably deserves a 2-6 this Christmas for his incrediably charitable carrying of boxes into my house while I had a shoulder injury.

I need to find an MSDS sheet on a medical skeleton I have kicking around, I am tentatively playing with the idea of dismantling it and putting it into my tank mostly to use the ribs, and pelvis I think. I keep waffling on my interior rock designs, and its starting to annoy me. Makes me wonder though what happens if I get another visit from the local 5-0 about the "funny glowing light in my basement".

    Why does the middle baffle in the triple baffle spot appear to go all the way to the bottom of the sump? Are the glass edges polished so you don't get cut? If not, apply silicone across them like a thin barrier to avoid getting nicked.

    Very nice looking sump! Looking forward to watching the build. Please post that process with pictures! Good luck.

    Hahah.

    I'll take you some better shots this weekend once we get the sump in place. So the middle baffle doesn't really go to the bottom, it is cut out at the bottom to allow water flow. The edges are polished too!

    Hey Michika,
    Glad to see updates on your tank, Hope to see it running soon.
    Looks like the baffles are too close to each other (I'm sure Marc will be the one to check with on this) and that the middle baffle goes too close to the bottom which will make the flow throught he baffles fastger than you want to allow air bubbles to escape?
