Question on dosing issue

Rate this Entry
I am going to try zeovit system on a 100 gallon tank. I want the dosing of zeovit additives to be fully automatically. The problem is that I am supposed to dose in drops (1-2-3 drops), and the min dosing amount of any dosing pump I saw was around 1ml (which roughly 20 times more than 1 drop). Is there any pump on the market which can produce just a drop? Does anybody know if it is possible to prepare a less concentrated solution of Zeovit additives?

I'm not entirely sure of this. However, I would try contacting Zeovit and seeing if there is a safe method for diluting the concentration of the additive without negating the effects. This way you can use the doser. Just a thought.

The only method I've ever seen that might be close to dosing single drops uses a large syringe with a plunger motor. Zeovit has multiple additives, so each one would need its own motor. I don't think you can do this with automation. What you do need for sure is a spreadsheet. A friend of mine did that; he typed it up, printed it out and taped it inside the cabinet door of his stand. Each day he referred to it to know how much of what needs to be dosed. He also had to plunge the handle on the Zeovit reactor to tumble the rocks, daily.
