When Purchasing livestock I usually try to buy from local reefers, LFS, on-line shops, and in that order. On this tank I have been especially slow to stock this tank as I drive back and forth between Georgetown and San Antonio for school.

So far I have:

That is all I have in the tank besides some GSP and Pulsing Pink Pom Pom Xenia which I don't have any pics of at the moment. Next addition I think is going to be 2 green banded gobies, hopefully this weekend if I can find them from any of the LFS' in the area.

I've been to San Antonio a few times, but I've never visited a single LFS. What are the stores like down there?

To be honest I don't know anymore. It's been years since I actually went to an SA LFS. There was one that I really liked called Fin Addict, but went out of business. The owner really knew his stuff, and was very helpful with anything you needed. He definitely was not just out there to make a buck, but really wanted to help the hobbyists. He even had his own propagation system in the back which is where alot of his stock came from, but he did suppliment by ordering from a supplier in Cali. (I think) There was a new store that opened up as I left called B&B which I went to once or twice and they seemed good as well. But I can't give you an idea of what they are like now. But I think you have given me a new idea for a blog......Thanks!

oh I almost forgot, A place called Texas Tropical, which has half salt/coral and freshwater. They have a great selection of fish, and have a good balance between large tank fish and nano fish. I've found a lot of LFS' don't carry many in the nano section very often. They have great prices on equipment and in my opinion great customer service. They know my name there, even after I hadn't been in there over a year!

Melev, You're in the DFW area? I go there a lot(I'll actually be up there in about 3 weeks), what LFS can you recommend? I always wanted to go look at some when I go but never know where to look.

Yes, I'm in the s/w corner of Fort Worth. You can see all our fish stores on this map - it needs to be updated a bit, but I've not had the time:

The stores I go to are Frank's Tanks (he's in the middle of a move right now, so the store is seriously in transition), Fish2morow, and then in Dallas I go to Fish Gallery.

That is a frag of a short tentacle plate coral

AWW i haven't seen a healing frag of a plate before! it's adorable. I do have another query since that has been uncovered, and i don't mean to sound mean or anything like that i promise! Why isn't it on the sand, i've always heard that they prefer the sand to rock because of their soft undersides

No offense taken at all. The person I got the frag from glued it to the rock and I'm to scared to try and scrape it off, but the coral has grown since I have had it so I don't want to do anything unnecessary
